About Us

At BucketMatch, we believe life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

BucketMatch was built to help people take action on the things they want most — whether it's booking that flight, writing that book, or starting that YouTube channel. Not everyone keeps a written “bucket list,” but everyone has dreams they hope to achieve. Too often, those dreams collect dust. We want to change that. Life begins at the edge of our comfort zone, and we aim to inspire people to take bold leaps and fully experience life.

Our Mission

To create a world where life’s riches are measured by the experiences we share.

Founding Story

Founding Story

Why did I start BucketMatch?

In 2019 I fell into a depression after achieving certain milestones in my career & financial status that I thought were supposed to make me fulfilled, but they didn't. I began to feel that true happiness was unattainable and quickly spiraled into a belief that life was entirely meaningless. I would later learn that I was what's considered to be "passively suicidal."

Then at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was laid off from my job. Feeling particularly directionless and desperate to find any reason to keep living, I needed to try something different - so I revisited an old bucket list I'd started in college and decided to embark on a mission to cross off 52 goals from that bucket list in 52 weeks (one year).

At the end of that year-long journey, I had an opportunity to deliver a TEDx Talk about the experience. As cliché as it may sound, this project saved my life. It helped me rediscover my enthusiasm for the world and it molded my perspective on what it means to truly live. You can see more on the experience at the link below.

"It's better to regret trying and failing, than to regret not trying at all."

Ted Talk

My TedX Talk

After attempting to cross off 52 goals from my bucket list in 52 weeks, I had the opportunity to give a TEDx Talk about my experience. I was overwhelmed by the response I received and I realized firsthand that there's a silent yet pervasive problem -- people know they are living on autopilot, but they're putting off making a change.

By building BucketMatch, I hope to help people across the globe to finally go after some of their neglected life dreams. When you share your dreams openly, you'll be amazed to see how the world responds.

What inspired this idea?

In 2020, our founder, Jeremy George, was struggling with suicidal ideation despite having everything he thought would make him happy—career, money, lifestyle. Then he was laid off.

Desperate to find a reason to keep going, he committed to a year of fully pursuing the goals he’d long neglected. Calling it the 'What A Year' project, he set out to cross off 52 bucket list goals in 52 weeks. The experience changed his life, and now, he hopes to help others experience that same transformation.

You can hear more about his journey in his TEDx Talk:
